As we enter December and approach the Christmas holidays, many people are preparing to do their Christmas shopping, wondering which malls are open on the holidays.
The first long weekends of December in the Canary Islands were in the first week of the month, Tuesday 6 and Thursday 8 December, corresponding to Constitution Day and Immaculate Conception Day.
This year, Christmas Day (December 25) falls on a Sunday, so Boxing Day is unusually a public holiday in the Canary Islands, whereas, unlike in the UK, it usually isn’t.
With these holidays, and reduced shopping Sundays, these are some of the shopping centers open in Tenerife throughout the period:
Siam Mall:
The Siam Mall Shopping Center in Playa Las Américas continues to be open 365 days a year, including all holidays and Christmas Day. Their normal hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Pink Center:
The Centro Rosa in Playa Paraíso opened its doors in November 2019, so it had a Christmas before the pandemic started, so they are looking forward to Christmas this year as much as anyone. Like Siam Mall, they are open 365 days a year from 8:00 am to midnight.
Meridian Shopping Center:
The Meridiano de Santa Cruz Shopping Center is the headquarters of Primark in Tenerife, and it opens every holiday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., it will also open the three Sundays before Christmas (4, 11, 18), but not on 25 .
The English Court:
El Corte Inglés, located on Avenida Tres de Mayo in Santa Cruz, will be open every Sunday and all the long weekends in December, although it will close early on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve at 8:00 p.m.
To field:
The Alcampo shopping center in La Laguna will be open on December 4, 6, 8, 11, 18 and 26, between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., but it will close early on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve at 8:00 p.m.
